Purpose

The Armenian Talent Show Competition is a community event that highlights and supports local talent in a family-friendly and inclusive environment.

REGISTER

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to all Armenian individuals or groups regardless of age, gender, or background.
  • Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian submit consent.
  • Group performances must designate a lead contact.
  • Participants must submit all required materials and forms by the registration deadline Jun 20, 2025

PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES

  • Time Limit: All performances must stay within the selected 2- or 3-minute timeframe. Time violations may result in point deductions or disqualification.
  • Content: All acts must be appropriate for a general audience. No explicit language, violence, or discriminatory content will be permitted.
  • Props & Music: Participants must list all items needed during registration. Music must be submitted in MP3 format no later than June 20, 2025. A DJ will be provided.
  • Arrival Time: Participants must arrive at least 45 minutes before their scheduled performance.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Judges will score based on a standardized rubric considering the following:

Category – Points

  1. Talent / Skill Level – 15 pts
  2. Originality / Creativity – 10 pts
  3. Stage Presence – 10 pts
  4. Entertainment Value – 10 pts
  5. Technical Execution – 10 pts
  6. Charisma – 10 pts
  7. Costume / Appearance – 5 pts
  8. Appropriateness – 5 pts
  9. Performance Quality – 15 pts
  10. Audience Engagement – 10 pts

TOTAL – 100 pts

Each category may be scored on a scale of 1–10. Judges’ decisions are final.

PRIZES

  • 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place will be announced and awarded on Sunday July 6th.

NOTE:

  • As a non-profit, all prizes are funded by donations or sponsorships.
  • Participants receiving cash prizes may be required to complete a W-9 form or appropriate tax documentation.
  • Prizes are considered gifts or honoraria and are not subject to employment income status.
  • Prizes may be reported to the IRS if they exceed $600.
  • The producer reserves the right to determine the time for any performer exceeding 3 minutes.
  • During the talent show, non-competing performances may occur at the producer’s discretion.
  • All exceptional judicial rulings are subject to final approval by the producer.

LIABILITY WAIVER

By registering, participants (or guardians) agree to hold harmless Homenetmen Western USA, its volunteers, venue staff, sponsors, and affiliates from any and all claims related to personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred during the event.

CONDUCT & LIABILITY

Participants are responsible for their OWN equipment and belongings.

Any damage to venue property or other individuals may result in disqualification and legal responsibility.

Disruptive or inappropriate behavior before, during, or after the event may result in removal from the venue and possible disqualification.

By entering, participants agree to allow [Organization Name] to photograph and/or video record the performance for promotional purposes, unless a written opt-out is submitted.

The organization reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate any of the above rules.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The organizers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, safety concerns, etc.). In such cases, efforts will be made to notify participants in a timely manner.

Additional Judging Criteria (Options to Consider)

  1. Artistic Interpretation (5–10 pts)
    How well does the performer convey emotion or narrative through their act?
    Is the delivery expressive and intentional?
  2. Audience Connection / Emotional Resonance (5–10 pts)
    Did the act move the audience? Was there a strong emotional or relatable quality?
  3. Professionalism / Preparedness (5 pts)
    Was the performer prepared, on time, and respectful of time limits?
    Were transitions smooth and was the performance polished?
  4. Use of Stage / Spatial Awareness (5 pts)
    Did the performer effectively use the stage or performance area?
    Was their movement purposeful and engaging?
  5. Vocal or Instrumental Clarity (If applicable, 5–10 pts)
    For singers/musicians: Were the notes accurate, tone clear, and dynamics well controlled?
  6. Group Coordination / Cohesion (If group act, 5–10 pts)
    Did group members perform in sync?
    Was there strong chemistry and unified energy?
  7. Difficulty / Risk Level (5 pts)
    Did the act demonstrate ambitious technique or complexity?
    Did the performer take creative or technical risks?
